Here to share some of the progress I’ve made on the exterior of the Victoria Farmhouse dollhouse so far since the last time I shared about this beautiful dollhouse find.

The Roof Shingles
I got the remaining of the shingles all glued down all around including the eaves, the eaves were easy to install but I realized I did them upside down luckily the shingles covered my hoops. I went ahead and stained them not once but twice to get them somewhat a darker shade. This stain was a new color stain I wanted to try but I'm not sure I love it but I can live with it for now. I am considering giving the shingles a slight white wash or maybe go over it with a more muted gray stain but still thinking about it. In the meantime I’m okay with how they turned out and look agains the color of the house.
If you looked at the house prior some of the shingles were damaged or chipped but those had already been installed prior to me picking up the house probably from being moved around. Luckily they're not damaged to a point where they need to be replaced so.
Fixing The Damage
Soon after finishing that portion on the roof and eaves, I got to fixing the damaged wood section of the front of the house. Remember that? If you look at the picture below or previous post, that section originally looked like they had ripped it out due to possibly having been done incorrectly and their intention was to start over. Thanks to the extra pieces provided I was able to do damage control and though it's not perfect, I feel like it definitely looks better than before and I don't mind the imperfection.
Just used wood pieces and wood filler and a little paint of course.

The Exterior Paint Color
I actually had bought this color for another project and I'll be using it on many others. The color is "Green Scene" by BEHR. And I love it! It looks different in different lighting but I love that it's in the olive green family of colors and yet it's bright enough to make you smile literally every time I see it on this dollhouse and other projects I've used it on recently. I'm obsessed and I'll be using this color a lot more in the future.
What do you think?? Comment below.

What's to come....
Windows Trimming & Doors
I have yet to pick a trim color for the windows and doors. I might stick to the creamy white or ivory. But I also want the doors to feel unique to the house so TBD.
The Chimney
The chimney has yet to be completed as well. I plan on doing either a stone or brick look. I'm trying to decide and doing research on Pinterest of course. But I'm excited to work on it because I've never worked on a dollhouse chimney before.

The Top & Bottom Porch
I did paint the porch areas the same color as the house for now. I'm still trying to decide on what I'll be doing to them before I install the railings. I'm considering painting the floor in a checkerboard pattern or possibly some brick as well, we'll have to wait and see.

I'm excited with how different and pretty the dollhouse looks already and excited to work on the rest of the exterior so I can finally get going on the interior which for some reason is always somewhat more challenging for me when it comes to dollhouses. I definitely procrastinate a lot. So I'm going to try not too since I already have the furniture it'll hopefully make the decision process go a lot smoother.
Stay tuned!
xx
