Life Lately | January & February 2026 Recap

It's officially March. January dragged next thing I knew I blinked and February had flown by. Truth is it has been nice to take things slow these last couple of months. I didn't think I'd get this post out this weekend to be honest and I actually wanted to publish it yesterday being that I started it at the coffee shop while I took some time to enjoy my coffee and breakfast before heading out to pick up a FBMP find, make a quick stop at Homegoods and pick up a Target order.

I feel like almost every time the year starts over we tend to want to start hitting the ground running. As the years have gone by and the older I get I’m realizing that I don’t want to feel rushed come the beginning of the year nor do I want to feel the pressure of meeting everyone's needs but my own expectations. In fact that's officially my motto now. But it doesn't mean I haven't missed you or coming on here to share.

The older I get the more I’m realizing time is precious and being more present while still doing the things I love is priority. I’m still sharing things I love and brands I love to work with over on my instagram and TikTok, but only when I feel that I can manage to do so. It's fun and hope I'm still inspiring you somehow because every brand I work with has it's purpose!

You haven't missed much though, I'm still working out 5 days a week, 3 days of weights and 2 days of pilates/strength combo workouts. It's a ritual at this point and a part of my routine, critical in fact, because it's not like I'm getting any younger. Adding weights in our 40's is more critical than you may think and it's never too late to start.

I've been trying to meal prep on a weekly basis as well or even twice a week sometimes for myself, it's always been hard for me to consistently do so, but now that I eat strictly Gluten Free its a must for my sanity and not having to guess or figure out what I'm going to eat on the daily or too often for that matter.

Besides all that my day job has been keeping me plenty busy and I'm usually mentally drained by the end of it and even so I've been in full home refresh mode since the beginning of the year. Updating some furniture pieces, purging and donating things, decluttering and editing spaces. Nothing too dramatic, just small changes that make everything feel lighter or cozier. I always forget how good it feels to clear things out and create a little breathing room and make things feel fresh again.

I've even completed a new project recently that I sort of hinted about during the holidays and yes I know I’m behind on posting about projects so that is also something I’m trying to finally incorporate as I’m finally in that mindset at this moment. None the less taking time away to enjoy the things I love are just as important like thrifting. I haven't been doing is as often as I'd like but when I do I'm taking my time looking for things with purpose. I actually got lucky just this past week and found the most cozy Forever21 cardigan/sweater if you will. Scored some Abercrombie jeans like a month ago and even found the cutest Steve Madden sandals from ThredUp another great place to shop for lightly used clothing.

I told myself that this year I'll be shopping secondhand mostly unless I find a great bargain through a retailer I simply cannot pass up. So far I've been sticking to it.

So far 2026 has been good on the homefront but also a little bit of a whirlwind when it comes to personal life. We have some fun things planned this year and we're already anxiously awaiting Spring. Although around here Winter decided to hardly arrive at all with the lack of snow and it's pretty much felt like Spring already the last couple of weeks. Personally I cannot wait to get outside and play with my plants and more outdoor projects.

I hope your 2026 has had a great beginning thus far. Make sure to make your way back here soon, I'll have some updates on some latest projects very soon.
