I wanted to pop in today to send you a little hug through the screen it's been a devastating week to say the least even though it started pretty well. If you're anything like me, this season comes with both excitement and a little bit of overwhelming chaos. The school year is in full swing for most including me actually, I'm currently taking an interior design class, and of course the to-do lists grow for just about everyone, and yet there's beauty in creating small, grounding rituals. Lighting your favorite fall candle. Baking something warm. Taking a walk under the changing trees. Which is my all time favorite here in Utah.

A little bittersweet isn't it?! I couple of weeks ago I couldn't have said that I was in full swing Fall mode just yet. I have learned to embrace each season for its offerings and summer had yet to wrap up for us until last weekend. We had our last summer hoorah by enjoying a family fun day at our local amusement park. The company my husband works for was kind enough to treat all of their employees and families to a day full of family fun and play. You can check out some of the highlights over on my Instagram.
If you've been around long enough then you know my birthday is mid-September, so it's usually when I choose to do or try to to embrace all the things I love most that this beautiful birthday month has to offer. But I’m not going to lie that 46 feels quite older than 45, and inching towards 50 has made me definitely think more about my future self. I adulted hard this year (with help from Hone Health). if you've been following on Instagram stories then you know I've been focused on my health extensively in the last few years but more so in the last couple and even more so in 2025.

It feels good investing in my health, even had my first colonoscopy this year which doesn’t sound terribly fun because the colonoscopy itself isn't too bad but IYKYK it's the prep part that really sucks. My health has had its challenges for sure in the last few years but nothing I haven't been able to handle. It's insane how much changes as we get older, but the determination to staying healthy is what motivates me most.
I know I left off here on the blog back in May when I last posted about the final look of our hallway wall update and our mini mudroom DIY, so let me say, not a lot has happened around here since as far as projects go. If you've been following on Instagram then you know I've been working outside a lot trying to get our landscaping into some decent shape (zones and weather sure is different here than what I'm used to so learning to maneuver gardening is my focus when the weather is warm) I've also been partnering with health and wellness brands and traveling a bit to California this summer. My daughter's bestie and childhood friend got married and all the fun was had with pre-wedding festivities and the actual wedding itself but now that it is over, we have yet one more trip to Texas for yet another wedding and then we get to embrace the
holidays in full swing.
My daughter did such an amazing job in planning the Bridal Shower that I almost feel proud :) I do have to give myself a little credit.
We truly enjoyed summer though, not per the usual but definitely in the best way nonetheless.
Spent the best morning at a farmers market this summer right by the water.
Traveled back to California not once but twice this Summer and I even got to stay in a hotel close to our old home that I had been wanting to stay for a long time, and it did not disappoint.
We even scouted some antique shops while we were there and that's one thing I do miss all the antique shops in Orange County, they're so good and pretty!
Spent plenty of time outdoors by the water with friends, our grandson, wedding traveling, antiquing, lots of thrifting and it was still just as productive. Lots of adulting with work and home things for sure. But what is summer without a good s'more in the midst of a summer thunderstorm.
Fall fun is yet to be had even though I've started Fall baking already, I'm really looking forward to going to the Farmers Market, our many Pumpkin Patches at local farms, enjoying an outdoor fall picnic, and lots more smore's, outdoor movies, and the list goes on.
I hope you're enjoying your end of summer activities or early Fall activities, either way make sure to stay tuned via Instagram stories for more of shares of our mini adventures and now that the weather is cooling down I'm hoping to find more time to sit and just blog about projects and all the other things.
xx
